Northern Catholic Conference•2008

Southport Floral Hall 6th, 7th and 8th June

It gives us great pleasure and joy to invite you to the next Northern Catholic Conference on the weekend of 6/7/8th June in the luxurious surroundings of the Southport Floral Hall complex. With a fantastic line up of renowned Catholic guest speakers and a great committee we hope to build on the success and blessings of the last previous yearly conferences.

Once again the weekend will comprise off Mass, healing service, great talks, prayer and praise and a comedy evening. We will also again have a specially facilitated Teenager stream and Children's stream.

Were also happy to confirm that the speaker Richard Moore will be joining us. Richard who is from Derry in Northern Ireland was shot by a soldier during the troubles when he was just ten years old, the rubber bullet hit his nose and left him blind in both his eyes. His moving testimony tells how through such adversity he never allowed bitterness to stunt his growth. Richard forgave the soldier and was even able to meet and be reconciled with him recently.

We hope as each conference comes round you feel ownership and aligned with us in this venture, as once again we will be using collaborative ideas that came from last year's feedback. As the body of Christ with its many members we hope as the committee that as we facilitate you feel just as much a part of it as we do, as we can't do it without you.

We've enclosed a poster with all the info and would be grateful if you could put it up in your own Church or advertise it in your own prayer group. As a committee our numbers limit us to making the conference more widely known and that's why we would appreciate any help you could give us. Obviously there's no better way of promoting events like this than word and mouth itself, by telling others about your own experience and personally inviting them if you have the opportunity to do so. And if you feel you could do even more to help build up the conference through putting up posters or giving talks after Parish Masses which we could aid with, then please don't hesitate to get in touch with us at our contact number on the enclosed poster.

If you are able to come we encourage you to book as early as possible to help with the planning of the event and to avoid disappointment, as we will be back in the Floral hall this year which has limited spaces.

We look forward to seeing you this June in Southport.

With every blessing,

Frankie Mulgrew & Fr Jimmy Collins.
